The 1890 Remington "Police" Revolver represents one of the last efforts to stay current with the single action revolver design, which was then fast becoming obsolete. It was built for a very short time and in extremely low numbers for a production firearm, making it a rare gun today. As the double action revolver grew in popularity and Colt remained dominant in the sales of Single Action Revolvers, the 1890 Remington was discontinued, and the Remington line moved forward without it.
