Review: Great price for the 2 cylinders I purchased for my 1858 Army. They look great.

Review: The main part of the product, the cylinder is great. However, the nipples are NOT stainless which kinda feels a little bit cheap. Why are they not stainless?

Review: I expected to have to modify the Pietta 1858 cylinder to function properly. One advantage of stainless steel is the ability to hide those modifications with fine abrasive papers. Additionally, I found it necessary to increase the chamfer on the cylinder hole to allow the cylinder pin to slide in more easily. If the pistol won't cock into the double action position, remove metal from the flat side of the cylinder. I estimate a few thousands of an inch (0,002). Not much, take your time.
