Review: This Pietta offering does not disappoint. I believe I received one of first units coming out of the recently reopened Pietta plant - after Italy rebounded from the 2020 pandemic. Pietta apparently didn't have any rust to shake off their production line, as the unit I received is about as nice as you can expect. -very solid cylinder lock up -good timing - 3 distinct and solid clicks while cocking the hammer -nice trigger break -very attractive color case hardening -bluing on the rest of the steel also very nice -the fluted .44 cal cylinder elevates the aesthetics - it would not be the same with a standard - non-fluted cylinder Note that the short barrel is not factory crowned, and my unit had a very small mar on the front edge of the loading lever through hole - where the brass loading rod is inserted to hammer balls in to the cylinder. This was easily smoothed with a round file in 5 min. The nicely checkered grip initially feels a little wide in hand - considering it looks very trim in photos, but I have gotten use to it and the wide surface area will likely spread out recoil better than a super narrow grip. As usual, EMF has great customer service and look out for their specials.
