Review: When i first got my spare cylinder i put it in my new model army and my hammer wouldnt go to full cock. Instead it would go to half cock. I suspected the problem was the cylinder hand. So i called up customer service and the repairs guy told me to give the hammer a few wacks with a plastic mallet while i hold the hammer at full cock. I did that a couple times and now my gun runs just as smooth as my colt navys. It only took me 5 mins to get this cylinder to work and it works better than my original cylinder. Best customer service ive ever experienced.

Review: Cylinder does not function with my Pietta 1858. hammer does not hold at full cock with this cylinder. Original works perfectly. I am not a tinkerer so I don't want to mess with it. I wouldn't even know where to begin. Obviously not the same specks as the original.

Review: I had been watching for this product for a year or more so when I saw it was back in stock, I promptly ordered it. I noted the we will call to confirm before shipping so being deaf, I told my wife to watch out for that phone number. Unfortunately, we were out of town in a noisy environment so she missed the call. When I checked her logs after we got back, I saw the EMF number so we called them. The service was great: professional, pleasant, and human. Within about 10 minutes we had the order confirmed. Happily, they didn't just discard my order simply because the first time they tried calling didn't go through. The next day, I got the tracking email. After the confirmation call and allowing for the USPS slow down and the holidays, I was pleasantly surprised that it actually arrived in the famed 3 days. Actually about 6 days but due to the holiday and Sunday it was still 3 business days. That's impressive when most places say 7 - 14 days. The product itself arrived in a small box...no wasted packaging. In addition, inside the cylinder was in Pietta packaging. That was a great relief and indicator the cylinder was what I was actually looking for as this was my first time dealing with EMF. After cleaning off the shipping oil from the cylinder, I examined it and checked it against a .454 ball before I tried it in my Pietta 1858 .44. Perfect fit, same as the original. When I swapped it with the original I had just as much trouble with it as I do the original cylinder, as I'm not proficient in swapping cylinders yet. To me, that's indicative of it being the right physical size and proper cylinder for this revolver. Once I got it in place and seated, it was a perfect fit. Of course, once I saw the Pietta packaging, I had no doubt, but still, I needed to check. A few other measurement checks and I know I got the right quality part I wanted. Great service, pleasant to work with, very decent prices, good parts...like many others, I'll be be happily and confidently ordering from EMF in the future. Now if the weather would please warm up so I can go shoot!
